Windom's annual summer festival gives area residents and visitors the opportunity to start the summer season with a variety of activities for all ages..

The celebration is staged on the second full weekend
each June by the many volunteers that make-up
the Riverfest Committee.

2008  Medallion Hunt

1:30 pm –  RIVERFEST IDOL TALENT CONTEST
                 
FREE - Entertainment Stage - Courthouse
                  Square.  Prizes will be awarded in pre-teen,
                  teen & adult divisions.  Audience votes!

Top place in the Pre-Teen Division went to Chana & Caitlin Brandt for their vocal rendition of "Sisters."   The Teen Division was won by Kylie Dane-Willard who sang "Where Did Our Love Go?"   Capturing the top prize in the Adult Division was April Buhler, who sang "Before He Cheats."

2:00 pm -   Chicken Bingo - Buy a square for $ 3.  If
                  the chicken leaves its droppings on  the square
                  that you purchase you will win $ 50.   
                  Fund-raiser for Riverfest 2007.

Winners in this new event were Tonja Krueger in the first round and Sandy Herder in the second round.

Courtland Magby's turtle was the overall champion.

      Windom Girl Scouts - Best Non-Commercial Entry
      Schumacher's Berry Farm of Heron Lake - Judges'
           Preference.

The high school marching band competition yielded the following results:
      Overall Champion - Yellow Medicine East
      First Place - Hutchinson Marching Tiger
      Second Place - St. Peter Marching Saints
      Third Place - Fulda
      Fourth Place - LeSueur Hutchinson
